It is a great car seat. The biggest problem we have had with other car seats, including the infant car seat that my son just grew out of, is that sometimes they only fit rear-facing if the seat in front of it was too far forward for a passenger to sit in it. We don't have that problem with this seat. I have a SUV and a Subaru Imprezza (sedan) and it fits great in both of them. We even got to push the passenger seat back a little bit from when the infant car seat was in it.My son was a little small for his other convertible car seat (we had to put towels on each side of him so he wouldn't end up sitting akwardly), but we don't have the problem with this seat because of the inserts. The only downside is that it doesn't recline back so we had to put something under the front so he would be leaning back more. It is a long drive to work and my son fals asleep a lot and if the seat is too upright his head flops forward in an uncomfortable looking position.

The extra padding around the base of the seat is great if you have a five or six pound baby, but be aware that it's not attached. It's just set in there for added padding if you want it. I was buying for my 45" 42 lb 3 yr old. The straps come up high enough to fit him comfortably, and grow with him for a while yet. The headrest also comes up high enough to fit him comfortably and support him. The seat itself is small enough on the base that it fit to the seat in my car and didn't hang over and get my son too close to the seat in front of him. However, there are only two crotch straps. The very back and one that would be the middle on other seats. This caused my son to sit on the belt but the buckle was clear and able to be attached. However, the price was the biggest issue I was having. I mean yes, it's nice seat and yes, it was the right size for my son. However, at my local walmart, they sell a Safety 1st Guide 65 for $70 (and tax) ( Safety 1st Guide 65 Infant Car Seat, Seaport) that is almost identical to this seat. The difference is it has the third placement for the crotch strap (gives my son extra room to grow on his butt) and doesn't come with the quilting look on the light part of the seat. It also comes in three different colors (grey, green, and pink)allowing me to also get one for my daughter to grow into.Overall, yes this seat is very nice if you are looking for a seat to grow into with a larger child or if you simply want the Eddie Bauer name on it.

12 of 14 people found the following review helpful.I felt compelled to write a review of this seat because there are so little out there. This seat is just "ok" Basically, it carries the Eddie Bauer name, but cosco quality. I'll list the Cons and ProsCons:1. This seat is horrible to install RF. I attempted to install this seat RF in our Ford Edge in the middle seat. Unfortunately after multiple & exhausting attempts I gave up. I can not get a tight fit & proper recline no matter what. I moved the seat to passenger side, and the fit is a bit tighter, but not ideal.2. The chest clip is cheaply made plastic. I'm fairly certain that I could snap it apart with one hand.3. The straps are constantly getting twisted and there is no mechanism to prevent this. They also must be rethreaded. This seat does not come with shoulder pads.4. There is no cover for the buckle & it would be very easy to hurt chubby baby thighs this way. I've caught myself on this multiple times.5. There is no level bubble, just a bar that is not 100% certainty unless you whip out your own level.6. The infant inserts are crap. They just sit inside the seat. There is no way to attach them & they are constantly getting bunched & twisted behind my child's back. I eventually took them out.7. The seat material is horrible. I've only been using it for over a month and the area where my child's shoes hits has already started to pill and snag. It looks awfulPros1. Lightweight2. The head rest adjusts easilyWe eventually decided that since this seat was a gift, we would keep it as a spare. However, I am not using this as my primary seat, and have since purchased a RECARO.Good luck with your carseat research.
