When weather turned chilly and started to rain, we purchased this to keep her warm and dry. Prior to this we had just used the sun/insect shield, but got caught in a few unexpected rainstorms and ended up with a drenched baby. We have used this a couple of times, including through a good storm and she has remained dry. An added bonus is that the shield keeps toys and blankets inside the stroller, no more stopping to pick up objects pitched off the side! I hope to be able to continue running with her through the fall, even on chilly or wet days. It is difficult to put on the first couple of times, but gets easier with practice.

Before buying this cover, I used a general rain cover for strollers, some cheap unheard-of brand that I cut in several places so that it would fit the Bob stroller, since the Bob weather shield was unavailable for several months a couple of years ago. My "custom-made" cover worked quite well (I run a lot with my daughter in the stroller; rain or shine... we don't care). When the Bob weather shield finally became available again, I purchased it, thinking that it would be a great improvement. Well, it works all right but it's not the great improvement to my cheap "custom-made" cover. There are a few things that I would design differently. Firstly, the cover is very bulky because of the wire frame that holds the cover away from the child's feet. So, when you put it away, or want to take it along in the stroller just in case, it's a bit annoying that you have to roll it along the length of that wire frame and that's the final size of the cover (which could, in theory, get packed up into a tight package - I'm not convinced that wire frame is all that necessary). Second, the area at the feet, which is what that wire frame is supposed to provide, is too small for larger children. My daughter is now 3 y.o. and her feet are too long for the cover to fit around her feet to get secured to the edges of the stroller. I have to really tug at it to get it around and she has to keep her feet still, otherwise the thing will pop off. Third, there are all these vents everywhere. I'm sure that the company has to make sure that all these safety guidelines are met but the vents up top, near the handle, where the cover is to be secured into the back of the stroller, make the whole thing really flimsy. There are so many areas where air comes into the side of the stroller, making these vents at the top completely unnecessary. Forth, my most serious complaint, is that the way this cover is secured into the back of the stroller is a really bad idea when it REALLY rains. The water basically drains into the back of the stroller, and fills this pouch kind of thing and eventually (depends on how long you're out) it drains right into the back of the child. It would make more sense to make the cover so that it covers the entire back of the stroller, so that water drains down, not into the stroller. So, overall, for a product that costs $50, I would have expected a LOT more than what I got.

We live in the mountains where rain and snow are in abundance, and we go running every day regardless of the conditions. It has kept our baby comfortable and dry in even very heavy rain. The only reason I've rated this four stars as opposed to five is that the weather shield cannot be used when the temperature is at or above 60 degrees F as it gets too hot in the stroller. Other than that, I highly recommend this product.
